Mary's Hands is the ministry founded by Jakov Colo (youngest of the visionaries). Mary's Hands serves over 500 families each month and operates on Divine Providence. It was Sr. Muriel's desire that Mary's Hands continue to feed her people which is another 200 plus families. They are pleading for help since there are no pilgrims in Medjugorje to help buy rosaries and religious articles to support their work.
Importance of Wood:
Wood is a precious commodity for so many families who have no means whatsoever to buy wood for the winter months. All wood comes from the mountains of Central Bosnia because there are no trees in and around Medjugorje/Mostar to cut for wood. A truckload of wood is 300 euros which is around $360 U.S. dollars depending on the exchange rate. Unfortunately, for the people of Bosnia-Herzegovina, there are no social programs to assist them with their needs of food and wood, etc.
